About us

Rucker Ranch was established in 2001 by Sandra Rucker of Old Town, Florida. Old Town a tiny town in Dixie County that sits along the Suwanee River. (Roughly 40 miles west of Gainesville and the University of Florida.) The farm sits on 20 acres of family land.

As a young girl, Sandra had a miniature dachshund as a pet, whom she loved dearly. After getting married and having children of her own, Sandra wanted her family to grow up with the same love, affection, and memories she had as a child. Sophie became the first mini dachshund for the Rucker Family, and the ‘Official Matriarch’ of the dachshund breeding business!

Our family has come a long way since our sweet red Sophie; we now offer short and long coats, plus a variety of colors such as reds, black and tans, piebalds, dapples, chocolates, and creams. All of our puppies are AKC registered and sold with their FL Health Certificate, including first set of vaccinations.

In early 2023, Rucker Ranch began breeding AKC Pembroke Welsh Corgis. The few litters thus far have produced some of the most beautiful puppies!!

Our family prides themself on ethical breeding standards, making sure the overall well-being of our dogs are prioritized before profit. Love and care is not limited to our puppies, but also, our parent dogs as well.
